Zanatorians: Dawn Of Steel by Proiteus Zanatorians: Dawn Of Steel by Proiteus
A good picture of all the Zanatorian miniatures.

----------------------

I thought some of you may be interested in some of the highlights of how my army got on in the 3 rounds…

First Round: Vs Tau
Capture & Control / Spearhead
This game went very smoothly I cornered the Tau army in the corner and slowly destroyed his army bit by bit. I did a suicide flamer bang in the centre of his firebase, direct hit with the deep strike and did massive damage to 2 battlesuit squads, 12 fire warriors and a broadside.

One Horror squad rolled a 3 on the mishap table so my opponent was allowed to place the squad where he wanted; funnily enough he put the squad on the other side of the board in my deployment zone so I ran them over and sat them on my objective.

The Changling really shone in this game in 3 turns I used the changling’s ability to force an enemy unit to fire on another enemy unit. My opponent was terrified of failing his leadership test so he always held his fire on the large squad fire warriors squads I targets and on the 3rd turn he tried to fight the illusion and failed and filled one of his own units with holes lol.

Machine of the Game: The Mastermind (Changling)
Result: Major Victory

Second Round: Vs Daemons
Annihilation / Dawn of War
At first I was excited as this was a dark Mechancius army with conversions featuring conversions using the Forgeworld renegades and included the plague drones as well using them as Soul grinders.

Sadly I had first turn so I had to setup my army with no enemy units on the board to target. Luckily he failed his waves roll so his 2nd wave turned up with was all the plaguebearers with a squad of flamers and fiends. I got a few shots up with the units that were in range but sadly that was the only easy part.

On the 2nd turn the heavy hitters showed up: 2 Soul grinders and Kag’rath. Throughout the game I made no end of mistakes on of which was forgetting to run my Plaguebearers after they arrived so they got blasted with both ordnance and flamer templates from Kag’rath before being charged by other Plaguebearers.

It just went wrong because everything was very resilient and my luck was awful throughout the game. In the end all I could do was retreat away from the enemy while shooting at them. In the end all I got was 3 Kill Pts and my opponent got 9 Kill Pts.

Machine of The Game: The 2 Golems (Daemon Princes: Between the pair of them they were able to kill Kag’rath)
Result: Major Lost

Third Round: Vs Eldar
Seize Ground / Pitched Battle

I was facing 2 Seer Councils on jetbikes and I had seen how annoying these squads are, in the first two turns they when straight for the Horrors and annihilated them so that was the majority of my scoring units gone. After the 3rd Squad fell the Nurglings pounced on the jetbikes squad that had been weakened by shooting from horrors and flamers and were able to defeat the last 3 warlocks and farseer. Before contesting 2 objectives at once.

With most of my scoring units gone I then aimed to destroy his troops choices problem was they were either in two well equipped falcons or turbo boosting around the board and both my chariots were unable to do any damage to then. So on the 5th turn my plaguebearers where holding the Frodo objective so I went to contest all the objectives I even through my 3 screamers at one objective. However the game went on another turn so they were destroyed by a farseer it then went down to one single Daemon Prince surviving a onslaught from a full seer council and he succeeded surviving on one turn he was able to hold off the elder to the last turn.

Machine of the Game: The Golem (Daemon Prince)
Result: Draw

My Final Ranking Was 24th out of 50 experienced players.

Nice. I'm guessing there were a few questions about "what counts as what" during the game? They look awesome, but I think I'd have trouble remembering what's what...

One of the best and most imaginative armies I have ever seen.
For that matter, right behind your grots, who are... well... cuter.
Brilliant and inspiring work.
Keep up the good job!

They are a 'counts as' army.

They were to be a necron army but they're boring and ineffective at the moment so I switched to using the daemon codex.

All of the models count as a daemon unit as explained here: [link]
