I decided to go with a 60mm base over the 40mm for purposes of it representing the Lord of Change and eventually the base crew to be very cinematic. As you have seen in my journal I'm entering the army in a tournament during the summer holidays but till then it can't be painted. Special thanks to a friend of mine who instructed and assisted me in the modeling of the green stuff on the model. Well here is a quick preview of the Avatar Of The Machine God an ancient and powerful machine that will be leading the Zanatorian robotic army. He'll be representing a Lord Of Change. All that remained to be done is his wings and adding a blade weapon to his arm. After that he'll be painted and ready for deployment --Zanatorian Miniatures-- Machine Lord (objective or herald): [link] Harbingers (Chariots): [link] Dragoons (Flamers): [link] Iron Guard (Horrors): [link] Steel Scorpions (Nurglings): [link] Scorpions-111458330 Mastermind (Changling): [link] Disruptor (Screamer): [link] Golem (Deamon Prince): [link] |

~The ravings of a single mad Goblin is bad enough, but such a power-hungry, malice-filled creature as Mortis can never hope to be understood~

"VIVA LA GROT"
This guy looks awesome so far, although he could use a bit more mass to his hood so that more of the face is obscured enhancing the menacing effect, but he needs mechadendrites and he needs a lot of them. They should be coming out of the bottom of his robes, his sleeves, his back, random folds in the cloth etc. All told you should have at least 10 on him and make them relatively big and independent. Rather than giving him a blade arm just make combat attachments to the mechadendrites and add crazy looking gun ends to some to represent whatever spells he is taking.
For a way to make them get some guitar string and some paperclips. Take the paperclips and straighten them out, then place them within the guitar string, then pin this all to the model. Bend them into the desired shape and glue it together and you have a mechatentacle of awesomeness.
Personally I think that he would look better with his arms held before him, hands in each sleeve in a brooding and menacing fashion rather than wielding a weapon with his hands. That way you could have mechadendrites coming out of the sides of his torso and being the things that are suspending and animating the cloak around where his arms would go.
Again, looks good so far, keep at him and make him more awesome. Oh, and look up some of the horus heresy card game artwork for inspiration, the dark mechanicus stuff was AWESOME, especially the council of horus art piece I can't find.
