NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT FAV MY DEVIATION WITHOUT A COMMENT, I GREATLY PREFER COMMENTS THAT FAVS!

The Changeling is a must in any all Tzeentch army, for 5pts it allows me to force an enemy unit to target a friendly unit so they can either stand around confused or pass a leadership to try and see through the illusion if not they shoot everything they can at the chosen friendly unit.

Such an ability would certainly require a robot that has some level of psychic power I thought of two options 1. A psyker’s brain implanted into a robot or 2. An ancient piece of tech that focuses on feeding info directly into the targets brain to create illusions. I decided to choose both and created the Zanatorian Mastermind.

The legs were the biggest issue but I finally got it sorted, what do you think?

So its a robotic Zoanthrope, awesome. Cool use of guitar strings too.

My only question: how is it floating? Every other floater you have made has an apparent engine or something similar, try throwing some exhausts onto this guy for this purpose. Also if you restrung all the guitar wire to look like it is dragging behind the bot on the ground rather than like the thing is walking on flexible tubes it would look better. As it is right now the legs look sort of like roots and its unclear what direction the device is moving if at all.

Cheers.

This thing is totally radically different in desing from the rest of the zanatorian concept. It's very very VERY good in idea iand realisation, but the hovering tentacle idea kinda doesn't set with the rest of the zanatorian design. I'm not saying that you drop it, i'm saying to add some detail on the hull to make it more zanatorian like. For example - adding vits so that the body looks like a giant hovering drone head, giant version of this: [link]
Some lights on the sides would be just the trick, the whole front hull shouldn't be changed, the sleekness of it is key for imposing the psychic abilities.

I love that look! I don't recall there being any real backstory to the Zanatorians. However, it looks like its some sort of robotic menace, scavaging parts from various armies and converting it to benefit it. I mean its' got Tau and Space Marine bitz and looks like a twisted version of a Spore Mine crossed with a Zoathrope.

I actually like the tentacles. They could be used for forcefully implanting false directives into the enemy. So you could give it a passive ability to alter brain waves and a more aggressive, CQC form where it actually does it to an enemy with much more lasting results.

Basically they're a machine cult that believes that the Imperium will one day fall and they wish to protect mankind from being wiped out. It's kind of complex.

They specialize in forbidden technology which is why they are referred to as heretics and are hunted by the Imperium.

Well originally it was going to be similar to the rest of the army with a sphere for a head and hovering with two weapons on the side like the old Dragoons.

But then I thought that something with such abilities couldn't of been built by the Zanatorians so I changed it's design to make it appear as if it was an ancient machine found and restored by them instead. And since there is only 1 in the army it's better that it looks very different to the rest of them, besides this look suits a psychic robot better.

Well actually I was thinking of it walking like the walkers from The War Of The Worlds film.

Like I said to Olovni I didn't want it to look like something the Zanatorians had built I wanted to appear like a ancient machine they had recovered and restored, this guy can force an enemy unit to shoot at another unit from their side unless they pass a leadership test or refused to shoot altogether.

Because of this I decided to make it appear rather menacing compared to the rest of the army.

Well, since you put it that way, yeah, it's good :)

ahhh....quite the premise. Being hunted by those you will do anything to protect.

Thats just it though, as it stands this guy isn't intimidating at all. If he was floating then he would appear to be rather powerful and psychic (Almost every psychic crap thing in the game can float somehow.) but as is it looks just like a techno-thing falling over slowly with tubes coming out of the bottom.

I'm not sure how to get a menacing look man, as it stands though he really doesn't have one.
