PH Thousand Sons Dreadnought by Proiteus PH Thousand Sons Dreadnought by Proiteus
Behold the glory of the Thousand Sons dreadnought! A full week and halfs work but without doubt worth it in the end. Im still planning some additional work such as a name on the script perhaps name it after a dread from the Horus Heresy art book; Kargori.
Its nice to see the scarab replacement and heavy bolter to Autocannons conversion worked out. I did consider adding water effects to the base but many people believed it would ruin it.

Anyway this will certainly keep me motivated, now to continue work with the terminators and the white robes that I keep putting off but will need to be done in the end!

Honestly, it's a great paint job, far superior to whatever I can do with my level of skill. However... I hate this look for Dreadnoughts. I love a lot of the Pre heresy models but these Dreads look terrible imo.

I see that you are aware that the Thousand Sons Legion had drastically differently coloured armour Pre-Heresy compared to their current colour, that's quite observant of you. I also applaud the weathering on the exhaust vents and the small crest on his head.

Not really that hard as I had a lot of the horus heresy artbooks and I couldn't help but love their unique appearance.

Considering Magnus the Red had literally had red skin, it isn't surprising where their original armour colours came from.

really well made, althought you could weather it using a sponge or soemthing liek that, to simulate many bumps and scorched paint. and the water effect wouldnt be really nice, exept, if it was reaching the top of the broken column, like if it was a submersed ancent city.

Awesome work on the Marines. I cant wait to see the whole army as one.

Do you intend on taking the Thousand Sons to any tournaments in the future?

yeah I'm aiming for one in febuary held by an Oxford club at Warhammer World, plus a few more. Sadly I'm unsure about Throne Of Skulls due to the non-gw parts on my terminators.

Always a pain in the ass about the non GW models. Still, if you are at a tournament, i'll definitely look out for your army. It deserves a best painted army award.
