Iron Guard Mock Model 02 by Proiteus Iron Guard Mock Model 02 by Proiteus
Well after creating the first mock model for my 'Zanatorian Iron Guard Robot' [link] I noticed flaws in the model.

The 2 main ones were...
1. The Goofy Eyes which have now been replaced with much more robotic looking eyes plus the color has been changed.
2. The Legs. Having 30 models in the same stance would be a real problem and the original legs could be re-positioned very well, so I replaced the top half with those from a Necron Warrior stopping each model from being in the same pose, I've yet to try a running or walking pose yet.

It's made from the following components...
Main Body - Old Epic Knight
Upper Legs - Necron Warrior Legs
Left Arm - Shortened Necron Gauss Blaster
Right Arm - Shortened Necron Guass Blaster with two Necron feet either side to create a claw like weapon.
Head - Cadian Helmet with the tip of a Tau Pulse Rifle.

Really clever use of various parts in this conversion. I'm highly impressed.

what is a 'Zanitorian'? Its cool to see necrons getting converted for once!

The Zanatorians are a renegade machine cult that operates outside of the Imperium and specialise in forbidden technology.

Ooh, yay for them, then!

Love how you used the Knight upper body from Epic. Such a shame that Epic just died off >.>

The robot on the whole looks... bland, to put it bluntly.
But it really has dumb legs that look 100 times awesome from the side and back. I blame the torso for shadowing their coolness! The bot has a cute butt, with the wires and all, and got pretty thighs too. My favorite view, naturally, would be the rear view of the model. Dozens of times better than the front and the silly loincloth armor.

i think it is much better :)
can't think of anything to complain about

Looks awesome (And gratuitously expensive...), my only suggestion would be to shift the eyes over to the center of the head, as is they look a bit odd.

Actually, if there is something else. If you wanted to try it I'd suggest that you scrap the head as is and go for a sunken glowing eye look. All of the imagery for the Mechanicum shows guys with hoods and glowing eyes under the cowl, so trying to go for something like that might look cool. Just a thought.

I must say it looks better and better with every time you redo it, but I also liked the old version...

The new head rocks, much better than the last one.

much better!

I dono, I kinda like the two eye head better. Though I suppose a three eye, or even for eye model could work, as long as you don't crowd the center.

I still want to know if there's alternative arms, that don't require necront gauss weaons. Ever considered using either of the Old Epic Knight limbs?

Body and color are by far much improved.

The Gauss Blasters bits are required to help them represent a necron warrior better.
KageRyuuUji Featured By Owner Nov 7, 2008
True, but last I checked, necrons only had one blaster, well most anyway. Could always try another bit for one arm or the other.

The three-redlit-eye head is definetley beautiful, it simply adds to the feel of it. Can;t wait to see 10 or 20 lined up togheter :)

That one in the right,is definitely my favorite. He has an ominous aura to him.

Also the alternative head for your main one is much much better than the mock one.

The Ghost Marine is from my last project and is there for size reference.
